Reservoirs & Tanks: Add 1/4 tsp per gallon of irrigation water. Equivalent Rate: 4.2 fl oz per 100 gallons. Circulate for 15 minutes before use.
Injector Systems: Prepare stock solution at 1/2 oz per gallon of stock solution. Set injector to 1:100.
Pond-Source Irrigation: Calculate pond volume (L x W x average depth x 7.48). Premix the required Clear Guard in approximately 5 gallons of water and distribute directly into the pond near the irrigation pump. Circulate for 15 minutes before use.

Clear Guard was evaluated at the recommended dosage using well and municipal water collected from four different locations. Testing measured changes in the water over 60 minutes, providing an early look at how Clear Guard performs across different source-water conditions.
All four water shources reach 0 ppm measurable free chlorine within 60 minutes. Testing also showed reductions in total alkalinity and carbonate in three of four water sources, while all four shoed lower measurable chromium readings follwoing treatment.

Municipal water may contain chlorine or chloramine, while well and pond-source water can introduce metals, alkalinity and minerals that contribute to staining, deposits and scale. Treating these conditions before the water moves through the irrigation system can help prevent problems from developing downstream.
Clear Guard is a liquid irrigation water conditioner formulated with sodium thiosulfate and citric acid. Sodium thiosulfate removes chlorine and chloramine from irrigation water, while citric acid helps condition metal and reduce alkalinity and conditions that contribute to scale formation. Together, they provide growers with a simple way to condition incomign water without a complicated water-treatment process.
Removing Chlorine & Chloramine from Water for Plants
Chlorine and chloramine are used to disinfect municipal water, but that same antimicrobial activity can be undesirable in a growing environment. They can interfere with beneficial microbial populations in growing systems and root-zone media, and sesitive plants may respond poorly to elevated levels. Clear Guard removes chlorine and chloramine from irrigation water before it reaches the growing environment.
Managing Heavy Metals in Well Water
Iron and other metals in well water can create problems beyond visible staining. Metals and mineral deposits can accumulate in irrigation components, contribute to clogged emitters and leave deposits on foliage, containers and growing surfaces. Elevated levels of certain metals can also interfere with plant nutrition or becomr phytotoxic. Clear Guard conditions metals in irrigation water to help reduce their tendency to bind and accumulate rather than physically removing the metals from the water.
Reducing Alkalinity & Scale Formation
High alkalinity makes irrigation water more resistant to pH adjustment and can contribute to rising root-zone pH over time, affecting nutrient availability and fertilizer management. Carbonates and minerals in source water can also contribute to scale and deposits inside irrigation equipment. Clear Guard helps reduce alkalinity and conditions that contribute to scale formation.
